An officer on patrol near the intersection of Curry Street and Jennifer Court in Yorktown Heights allegedly observed drug activity inside a truck involving Lake Peekskill resident James Paccione, 61, who proceeded to leave the area and drive off onto Route 6.

Police said that the officer followed the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop at Route 6 near the Taconic State Parkway entrance for a cracked windshield. During the subsequent stop, it was determined that Paccione was in possession of crack cocaine, and his registration had expired.

Paccione was arrested at the scene and charged with a misdemeanor count of criminal possession of a controlled substance, and he was cited for the broken window and expired registration, both traffic infractions.

Following arraignment, Paccione was released on his own recognizance and is due back in Yorktown Justice Court on May 24 to answer the charges.
